The things we buy can reinforce the status quo, or support a better way of doing things. Money makes the world go round after all – and it’s our choice which way round it goes.
Everything in our shop supports a better way of doing things.
Whether it's Fairtrade, local, organic or sustainably sourced – there's a social, ethical or environmental benefit inherent in everything we sell. We’re trying to harness the power of shopping to change the world. We like to think of it as 'shopping with your principles'.
There’s something for everyone at the Green Britain Centre Shop.
Our range of books covers subjects from science to vegan cookery, local history to the environment.
We’ve got plenty of beauty products available, including hair and skin products from Faith in Nature, and beautiful fine silver jewellery by Sally Grice.
We also sell household products including laundry and surface cleaners from Biod, washing liquids and wipes from Ecover, and sponges, brushes and scourers from Ecoforce.
For children, we have some lovely children’s books as well as plenty of science and engineering educational kits for hands on learning. We’ve also got some smaller ‘pocket money’ ethical bits and bobs including key rings, pens, wooden toys and Green Britain Centre souvenirs.
And we have work by local artists on display in our café, which is available to buy. This includes mosaics by Carolyn Ash, beautiful watercolours of the natural world by Samantha Symonds, dramatic torn and cut collages by Sue Welfare, and wildlife greeting cards by Steve Cale.
