You'll enter the centre through fully automated doors. There’s a lift to all floors, our toilets are fully accessible and our theatre is fitted with a hearing loop. Our garden paths are accessible too.

It's free to park. There are Blue Cardholder spaces near the entrance, and if you own an electric vehicle you can charge it in our car park during our opening hours.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome. If your dog needs a drink, or you need anything else during your visit, please speak to a member of staff.

Our building is fully accessible and has lifts on all floors – and the garden paths are wheelchair friendly too. You're welcome to borrow a wheelchair when you visit. Just call 01760 726100 before your visit or speak to a member of our team when you arrive.

Guided windmill tour

It's a 300 step climb to the top of our Windmill, making it inaccessible to wheelchair users – but we run an alternative, see below. The windmill tour may not be suitable for everyone. Especially people with heart conditions, acute asthma, vertigo or claustrophobia. If you’re pregnant, or have a condition that affects your ability to climb a lot of steps, please talk to a member of staff before booking your Windmill tour.

‘Feet on the Ground’ guided Windmill tour

There's no climbing involved, so this activity is perfect for people with limited mobility and children aged seven and less than 120cm tall. Or if you just don't like heights but want to find out all about modern Windmills.

It includes a talk from our Windmill expert – you'll learn how the Windmill works, when it was built and how much energy it generates. Then you can pop inside the windmill (on the ground floor) for a quick look around.

Please call ahead on 01760 726100 or email us to book a Windmill tour.

Guided tours are free for carers.

Special tours

If you, or anyone in your group, would like an alternative tour, please call us in advance on 01760 726100 and we'll happily arrange it for you.

Babies and children

We know that making life easier for parents makes all the difference when you visit somewhere new. If you need a bottle warmed we’re happy to help – just ask in The Café. High chairs are also available and baby-changing facilities can be found in the ladies and gents toilets on the ground floor.

We’re always looking for ways to improve how we do things. If you'd like to suggest something please email us or pick up the phone and call us on 01760 726100.

The Café
