A typical visit

10am Arrival and welcome talk

Gather in our theatre to hear about your visit, find out what we're all about and watch a short film about renewable energy.

10.30am Activity Extended Windmill Tour

Over 150,000 people have already climbed our windmill and a few brave souls have even jumped off it... abseiling for charity. Now it’s your turn to scale the only windmill in the world the public can climb.

This extended guided tour takes you to the heart of wind energy – you’ll hear how and when the windmill was built, how it works and what happens to the energy it generates.

You’ll also visit our solar tracker and discover how solar panels use the sun to make electricity.

11.30am Activity

Choose from either a short talk about the centre in our theatre or our Windmill Kits activity. See our full range of activities here
